Internship reflection Alejandra Molina

Doing my internship at TAISE, was an enriching experience. It was my first internship in Taipei, so I had to get used to both the work itself and to the city. My colleagues at the CCS office helped me understand the basics of living in Taipei since my first day. Learning things as transportation, cellphone services and places to visit were day one lessons. Then as day passed by the big event was approaching, the Global Corporate Sustainability Forum. Feeling part of the office was not hard, my peers had a strong sense of team work and whenever needed there was a someone that could help you ease the transition of interning at a new place.

There were many things I learned like cross cultural communication, translation of texts from mandarin to English, social media management, the basics of SEO, market research for possible international alliance & how corporate sustainability worked in Taiwan. Since TAISE has different divisions like the Center for Corporate Sustainability and the Education and Promotion committee, amongst others, it is difficult to suddenly fully understand all the efforts that TAISE does to promote sustainability into people’s life. However, if you have questions, be sure to know that everyone in the office will be happy to explain them to you. Furthermore, everyone comes from different backgrounds, which makes the experience even more valuable. Because as an intern you are able to see cross-disciplinary approaches to different everyday tasks.

Apart from the organization’s culture, the connections that you will make are infinite, TAISE has different partnerships and alliances with a diverse array of corporations and organizations. By assisting or attending the events they offer, you will be in the front row of cross-boundary and cross-discipline dialogue regarding topics like circle economy, corporate sustainability and sustainable development.

Last but not the least, the Global Corporate Sustainability Forum was by far an event that will forever be in my memory and it portraits the passion that everyone at TAISE has for corporate sustainability. Approx. 2000 people attended from different sectors and countries all with a common goal and all thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone in the office. So if you want to get a full immersed experience of learning from passionate, hardworking and remarkable people working towards a global goal which is the sustainable development. This is the place to be. I would not change this experience for nothing and will always be thankful for the amazing opportunity that TAISE gave me of leveraging different skills and learning more about the importance and specially how to efficiently promote corporate sustainability.
